Polo is an extreme sports horse activity requiring a high degree of Farriery skill. The shoe most favoured by the Polo Farrier is the Pegasus 5/8 x 3/8 45 degree Hunter Heel.
These shoes are the light heavy weights of the 5/8 range of shoes. The 45° heels on the Fore shoe aides very close exact fitting to minimise shoe loss through over reach. Whilst the hind shoes have upright outside heel for maximum support, the inside heel has a safed off heel quarter dressed at 45°. This also aids close fitting on the inside heel which helps to reduce the risk of cutting and brushing.
